Career Summary

After graduating from Newcastle University I continued my training at the offices of Lambert Scott & Innes passing my professional Diploma and achieving RIBA status in 1999.

While there I worked on a diverse range of projects in most sectors including Healthcare, Football, Housing for the Disabled and Education and was involved in Master Planning of city centre sites and a Science Park.

I moved to Purcell Miller Tritton LLP in 2001 which gave me the opportunity to develop new skills and detailed knowledge in the Conservation sector, both in the repair / restoration and in the renovation / re-use of historic buildings, mixing the old with contemporary design. My portfolio ranged from minor projects with the National Trust to the £9M HLF funded restoration and repair of Wollaton Hall and Park. I obtained AABC accreditation in 2005, was an approved Norfolk DAC church surveyor and was approved as an English Heritage Surveyor in 2007. I also developed an interest in the use of traditional and new materials in both traditional and contemporary design alongside my interest in sustainability and low carbon building solutions. I was the youngest appointed Associate in the practice in 2003 and helped to establish the Oxford office in 2007.

I set up my own practice in January 2008 which then became Spirit Architecture. Based in the Cotswolds the aim is to provide high quality Conservation, Restoration and Sustainable Architectural design and a person al service to my clients .

In 2008 I was appointed to undertake the building Conservation Management Plan for Shotover Park in Oxford in conjunction with Hilary Taylor Landscape Associates.

My other interests include Personal Development, Travel, Art, Theatre, Cinema, Cooking and Self-building/Developing.
