Kitchen Extension, Witney, Oxfordshire

Overview

The brief for this project was to add a new kitchen extension to this Grade II listed building in the centre of Witney while still maintaining the light to the Dining room behind. The form of the extension is quite traditional and is designed to appear like a converted outbuilding attached to the main house by a glass roof link. A Utility room is added to the end of the run to step the line of the extension building.

The glass roof element allow light to spill through to the centre of the two rooms while the oak framed exposed roof structure lifts the height internally so that the contemporary kitchen adds contrast to the traditional form.
